Prior to the founding of Goode Partners, Mr. Oddi was a Partner of Saunders Karp & Megrue where he was primarily responsible for identifying potential investment opportunities, structuring and executing new transactions and monitoring certain of the firm's portfolio investments.
Mr. Oddi joined SKM in 1994, approximately two years after the firm's first transaction, as its seventh professional. At the time, SKM had deployed approximately $100 million of equity capital in four portfolio investments.
Four years after Mr. Oddi joined the firm, he was promoted to Partner. During Mr. Oddi's tenure, the firm grew to manage over $1.5 billion in three private equity funds and employed over 30 professionals.
During Mr. Oddi's more than 10 year career with SKM, he participated in 12 platform investments and four add-on acquisitions totaling approximately $250 million of invested equity capital. He also completed two initial public offerings, four secondary offerings, three Rule 144A sales, one strategic sale and one successful turnaround. Substantially all of Mr. Oddi's experience was in the retail, branded apparel, restaurant and consumer products sectors. Several of the highly successful transactions in which Mr. Oddi participated helped to establish SKM's reputation as one of the leading private equity investors in these sectors.
In addition to Mr. Oddi's role as an investor, he was also primarily responsible for coordinating and developing SKM's deal origination marketing efforts. These efforts included a mandatory firm-wide communication effort with transaction intermediaries, in-person marketing meetings and participation at relevant conferences and the creation of the firm's marketing collateral. As a result of this proactive approach to generating deal flow, SKM would typically review over 1,000 investment opportunities each year.
Prior to joining SKM, Mr. Oddi served in the Leveraged Finance Group of Salomon Brothers.
Mr. Oddi currently serves as a member of the board of directors of Sneaker Villa d/b/a Villa, Silver Diner, Forman Mills, STONEFIRE Grill and Marolina Outdoor. Former board of director memberships include: All Saints, Capital IQ, Charlotte Russe Holding (NASDAQ: CHIC), Chuy's (NASDAQ: CHUY), The Children's Place (NASDAQ: PLCE), Dave's Killer Bread, Elephant Bar Restaurants, Incipio®, Intermix LLC, La Colombe Coffee, Lacrosse Unlimited, Luxury Optical Holdings, Ollie's Bargain Outlet, Rosa Mexicano, Rue 21, Skullcandy, Strike Holdings and Tommy Bahama.
Mr. Oddi is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, where he received a B.S. in Economics from the Wharton School.
